The Poseidon Regulator Configurator is designed to help divers, dealers, and distributors identify the right regulator configuration based on how the diver will actually use the equipment. Instead of starting with standardized kits that may later need to be modified, the configurator guides the customer toward a setup that is tailored to their diving needs from the beginning.
Avelo created the original equipment and developed the Avelo System and training methodology. Today, Shearwater is the lead manufacturer of the Jetpack, bringing its experience in dive equipment, electronics and manufacturing to the continued development of the system.
The CE marking represents the successful completion of the applicable European conformity assessment process and opens access to one of the world's largest and most established diving markets.
Cressi’s Da Vinci is a wide-screen dive computer intended for recreational divers who want a clearly presented display with scope for more advanced nitrox diving. Its 1.54-inch full-colour TFT LCD uses large, colour-coded figures, while a two-button interface is designed for operation with gloves.
Full-touchscreen smartphone housing rated to 60 metres
Divevolk has introduced the SeaTouch 6 Pro, the sixth generation of its underwater smartphone housing, designed to give divers access to a phone’s touchscreen rather than limiting operation to physical housing controls.
The housing uses the company’s flexible touchscreen membrane, which Divevolk says allows users to tap, swipe and operate native camera functions and third-party applications underwater with bare fingers. It is rated to 60m under the IPX8 standard and uses a button-free construction with a three-layer sealing system.
DRYFOB released its new DRYFOB-TL version container. This long and slim unit is ideal for some of the new narrow form-factor AIS/PLB units that measure 200 mm (7.9″) in length.
The new DRYFOB-TL model is similar to the recently released DRYFOB-TXL but with a 46mm (1.81″) interior diameter.
A manufacturing defect in certain Apeks second stages can restrict breathing-gas flow at depth. Divers with affected regulators are being told to stop using them immediately.
Apeks has recalled certain XL4, XL4+ and Ocea regulator second stages after a manufacturing defect was found that could restrict the supply of breathing gas at depth.
The UK's Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has classified the issue as presenting a serious risk of asphyxiation. The recall affects regulators with serial numbers 250402212 to 260402893, manufactured between April 2025 and April 2026.
One persistent compromise in underwater photography is that an excellent lens on land does not necessarily remain excellent underwater.
The problem is particularly apparent with rectilinear wide-angle lenses. Place one behind a conventional dome port and the interaction between water, glass and air can introduce corner softness, chromatic aberration and field curvature. Photographers have learnt to work around these limitations with large domes, carefully selected extension rings and smaller apertures.
The Java Sidemount BCD is the first sidemount buoyancy system developed and manufactured in Indonesia for the international diving market. We first encountered the brand at the recent MIDE expo in Kuala Lumpur, where the company demonstrated both its sidemount and backmount configurations.
Available in two limited-edition colours, the new Tern TX combines Shearwater’s compact dive computer with a marine conservation initiative supporting coral restoration and ocean protection projects.
Shearwater has introduced two limited-edition versions of its Tern TX dive computer, available in blue and purple colourways inspired by healthy oceans and recovering coral reefs. Only 750 units of each colour will be produced worldwide, with a contribution from every sale supporting marine conservation organisations working on coral restoration and marine protection.
The Poseidon Synchron collaboration watch combines design references from classic professional dive watches with visual cues linked to Poseidon’s long-standing role in Scandinavian diving equipment.
Developed in partnership with Synchron, the watch draws inspiration from vintage tool watch aesthetics while including modern materials and construction.
The case is built in stainless steel with a pronounced cushion-shaped profile typical of dive watches of the 1970s. A unidirectional rotating bezel and high contrast dial layout prioritise underwater readability, with luminous hands and markers designed for dim-light conditions. The watch is water-resistant to professional diving depths and features a screw-down crown and a robust case construction.
