The Long Island Diver’s Association Annual Film Festival will be held on Saturday evening, January 28, 2023.
We are very excited to return to an in-person event this year and will be hosting the film festival at Hofstra University. After three years of Covid restrictions, it’s time for divers to once again enjoy the pleasures of meeting in person.
You are invited to submit proposals for possible inclusion in this event. The Film Festival is an annual fundraising event for LIDA and traditionally features an exciting slate of world-renowned speakers, filmmakers and photographers.
We hope that you will consider participating in this year’s event by submitting your ideas and, if accepted, by joining our event in person.
You are invited to submit up to three proposals for possible inclusion in this year’s Film Festival. Please review the following guidelines before entering your submission.
Presentations should be focused on one of the following categories:
- Long Island SCUBA Diving
- Exotic Dive Destinations
- Expeditions and Adventure Diving
- Shipwrecks and Underwater History
- Local Marine Life
- Underwater Environmental and Conservation Issues
- Returning to Diving and Travelling After Covid
We are most in need of LOCAL material from LOCAL divers. If you dive in the areas around Long Island, and have interesting images or video of our local waters, consider putting a presentation together and submitting!
Please review and follow all submission requirements before submitting your Call for Speakers Application Form.
The Long Island Diver’s Association is a not-for-profit regional organization dedicated to the promotion of local diving, the representation of divers interests throughout the diving and general community, and the protection of divers rights through outreach to our local and regional government officials.
