The scheme, run by the Co-operative, the Shark Trust and the commercial fishing industry, aims to improve the recording of species caught as by-catch

The project will supply training in species identification to improve recording of species such as the small spotted catshark, the starry smoothhound shark and the cuckoo ray and will include a range of practical support materials such as robust at-sea identification guides.

South Georgia

South Georgia is the most well-known of the Falkland Islands, also called Islas Malvinas. It lies nearly at the end of the world in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. To find this place on the map, draw an equilateral triangle with one vertex on Cape Horn and another on the Antarctic Peninsula. The third vertex in the east is our destination.

China secretly salvaged British submarine

China's claim that the hull of the vessel contained no human remains, identity tags, watches, rings or other personal items has provoked anger among relatives of the men who died

On 9th June 1931 HMS Poseidon was exercising 20 miles north of her home base of Wei Hai Wei when the steamer Yuta was spotted some distance away. Despite excellent visibility, the two vessels collided and the submarine sank within two minutes.
