Emperor Divers Announces New Southern Red Sea Itinerary

Sometimes in life it is good to look at the world a little differently - and that is exactly what Emperor Divers have done with their new Red Sea itinerary.

Brand-new for 2023 is Southern Solitude which sees Emperor go against the flow.

While most trips explore the southern Red Sea following the same pattern, Emperor have developed an itinerary which will give experienced divers the chance to dive the best sites on what should be their quietest days.

Closure of Guadalupe Island for divers cause of great concern for the sharks

This action expands on the 2022 closure of the Guadalupe Island Biosphere Reserve by the National Commission of Natural Protected Areas (CONANP), the federal agency tasked with managing Mexico’s protected natural areas.

They also closed the island to cage diving in 2021 and the pandemic closed down operations in 2020.

Enhancing the Study of Marine Life with Data

In today’s technology-inundated world, it’s not surprising that technological tools such as data collection and analytics are being applied to just about everything. The process of ecological study is no exception. Just like many areas of scientific research, the study of marine life can be highly complex and detailed.

Applying data collection and analysis techniques can significantly enhance its quality, results, and efficiency. Because of this, many marine life studies and efforts are implementing data capture and analysis in their procedures.

Boot is back in business big time

After a corona-imposed two-year hiatus, the megashow was back on, and what a resurgence it was. After I landed on a morning flight, I jumped on the bus that went from the airport to the expo complex. The route went almost all around the complex in a clockwise fashion before we got to Eingang Nord, or the North entrance, which was my stop.

“Despite the difficult general conditions, boot 2023 has written a success story. We would not have dreamt of this outcome. boot has finally reached calm waters and is once again firmly anchored in its Düsseldorf home port. The successful comeback has demonstrated that trade fairs ‘made in Düsseldorf’ have an international appeal,” stated Wolfram Diener, President and CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.

New brain map to explain how cuttlefish camouflage themselves

Neuroscientists at Queensland Brain Institute have created, for the first time, a detailed outline of the brain structure and neuronal network of the cuttlefish.

Findings of their research was published in the iScience journal.

Since the current understanding of the cuttlefish’s brain has been based on just the nocturnal European common cuttlefish species, the research team wanted to expand the research to include selected cuttlefish that are active during the day, and to compare with other species from the Mediterranean and Indo-Pacific regions.
