Anglesey Sea Zoo has been a part of the community and business life on Anglesey island, Wales for over 36 years. In that time the aquarium has done a massive amount to protect and nurture local marine life.

Remaining a valuable local employer and a fundamental contributor to Anglesey is very important to us. Frankie Hobro, Anglesey Sea Zoo

Today the unique aquarium has over 40 tanks displaying the best of British marine wildlife including octopus, lobsters, seahorses, conger eels and jellyfish. It is a useful resource and has educated thousands of children (and their parents) about British marine habitats.

As a direct result of COVID-19 Anglesey Sea Zoo has shut its doors to the public until further notice. "The decision to close was a very difficult one - we are one of the longest standing attractions in North Wales - but the safety of our customers and staff, and protection of our local resources had to be our top priority" stated Frankie Hobro, Anglesey Sea Zoo owner.

The self-supporting aquarium runs a number of environmental initiatives such as a lobster hatchery and a sea horse program, hence it is dependent on the revenue generated from the facility, and the generosity of smaller donations. The zoo is also a valuable local employer and a fundamental contributor to the community of Anglesey.

Frankie Hobro stated "We do understand there are more pressing matters currently in the lives of many people, but our income has also dried up, whilst our marine life and support systems continue to require daily maintenance. We are kindly asking for donations so that we can feed and care for our animals during these turbulent times. Any donation would be warmly welcomed. Thank you."
