The exhibition is an excellent opportunity to connect with divers in Russia and Eastern Europe and widen the adaptive diving community, according to Jim Elliott, founder of Diveheart.

“We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the life-changing power of scuba diving. There really are no boundaries to what we can achieve, and we have seen time and time again how educational scuba therapy has built confidence and transformed the lives of people with disabilities all over the world,” said Elliott.

Scuba Diver License Plates Are Coming to Texas!

Texas vehicles can soon sport this recently approved SCUBA diver license plate.

The plate design will be offered for sale by My Plates, the official TxDMV-approved private vendor for specialty license plates in Texas.

Development of the plate was sponsored by CHUM – Houston’s SCUBA club, but there was broad grassroots support for the concept from SCUBA divers, dive clubs, and dive shops from every corner of the state.

DAN advocates a safe return to diving

For the past 12 months most divers have not been able to dive as much as they would like, and many haven’t dived at all. Now that the rollout of the Coronavirus vaccine program has commenced, and the weather improving, it seems that various COVID-19 regional lockdowns are beginning to ease, and scuba diving activities should begin to resume in several Northern Hemisphere countries.

If you’ve been out of the water for a while, it’s essential to take time planning your safe return to diving. DAN

DAN Europe launches tour focused on sustainability

With much of the tourism and sports industries stuck due to lockdowns all around Europe, some may think now it's not the best moment to launch a tour. However, ocean protection has long been overdue, and there's no time to lose.

Plans for the initiative were developed during the pandemic. The tour will have two passionate scuba divers and DAN Europe Ambassadors, Manu Bustelo and Alana Alvarez, travel some 11.500 km across Europe on an electric vehicle.

Lionfish, native to the Indo-Pacific, is characterized by conspicuous warning coloration and venomous spiky fin rays.

Stung divers needed for Lionfish Pain Survey

The two Canadian universities are currently collaborating on the world's first large-scale study of lionfish stings. At present, there is no scientific data that has been collected on a broad scale, as to what happens to a human after they have been stung by a lionfish.

Subject Criteria

Been stung? The scientists would like to collect the pain and symptoms you experienced after you were stung.

Last chance to enter 2021 'Underbathwater Photographer of the Year' competition

Fourth Element - the UK-based thermal protection manufacturer - came up with the idea in April 2020 with the aim of lifting divers' spirits, whilst they remained at home during the first British Government lockdown.

The idea was simple. Take the best photo you can underwater in your bathtub. And if you don't have a bath, just get creative. A sink, bucket, water butt or just about anything that can hold water was perfectly acceptable.
