The Swedish dive equipment manufacturer Poseidon Diving Group has been acquired by Argo Defence Group, marking a significant new chapter for one of the diving industry’s most innovative and long-standing brands.

Founded in 1958 and headquartered in Gothenburg, Poseidon has built a global reputation for advanced breathing systems designed for demanding environments. Its equipment is widely used by recreational, technical and professional divers, as well as by military and public-sector users operating in cold water and other challenging conditions. In recent years, the company has seen growing interest from defence customers, contributing to strong commercial momentum.

Under the terms of the acquisition, Argo Defence Group becomes the majority owner of Poseidon, with the company continuing to operate independently within the group. Poseidon’s current management team remains in place, led by CEO Jonas Brandt, ensuring continuity in both strategy and day-to-day operations.

Argo Defence Group has positioned the acquisition as a strategic fit with its focus on high-technology companies serving defence and security markets.
