Day 3 snapshots: Even as the last of MIDE 2019 loomed to an end, there were still people queuing up to buy entrance tickets. Time flies when there are so many decisions to be made: Which dive destination or which dive equipment shall one purchase? Freebies and attractive 1-for-1 offers on the floor attempted to lure last-minute sales. Dive enthusiasts left the expo with hands full of purchases and satisfied grins as they thought about their next dive destinations.

Day 2 snapshots: MIDE started on high gear with talks and presentations lined up from 10:30 A.M. till 6:00 P.M. Haggling conversations of dive tours and discussions of brand comparison could be heard, mixed with grunts of customers trying on wetsuits. The discounted prices made the temporary discomfort worth it. Tucked strategically were spaces dedicated for quiet reflection, marine education and conservation messages. The Department of Fisheries Malaysia shared information about the delicate balance of the ocean ecosystem through a mini-exhibition, while Shark Guardians concentrated on the importance of sharks. The force was strong on May 4th, and what better way was there to celebrate Star Wars Day in a dive convention than a stormtrooper wearing a BCD?

Day 1 snapshots: Pulau Bidong, a maritime research centre by University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), will be open to the public for the first time.
