Fourth Element Expedition Series Duffel Bag

Fourth Element Expedition Series Duffel Bag

Posted in:

My previous BlackBerry sported a bright pink silicone cover. I am not wild about pink, but it was the only brightly coloured cover I could find for my phone.

I was fed up with playing 'Where's Wally?' trying to spot my black mobile in my handbag. The pink cover solved this. I could find my cell in seconds because I could see it. Now Brit manufacturer Fourth Element has adopted the same thinking after getting frustrated feedback from Fourth Element team divers. It seems that the divers were just not that into hunting for black dive gear, in a black bag, in a black cave. Fourth Element's new 'Expedition Series' duffel bag is bright orange inside and out. The distinctive colour makes the bag simple to spot on a baggage carousel. And the practical inner fabric is bright enough so that it should make finding an item in low light conditions much easier. The duffle bag itself is manufactured from tough and enduring heavy-duty mesh PVC and Fourth Element has double lined the base to make it more durable. A large u-shaped flap folds back to give you easy access to the cavernous bag. The inside of the flap is lined with a zipped mesh pocket, whilst the flap itself is secured to the bag by two orange metal YKK zips. You can carry this duffle bag in a variety of ways. Firstly there are two grab handles - one at each end of the bag - that make picking up and putting down a fully loaded bag easier on the back. Then there are two straps that can be velcroed together so that you can sling the bag over your shoulder or carry it with a straight arm by your side. Thirdly there are two removable backpack straps. These padded straps are fully adjustable and simple to attach / remove with pinch clips. The bag has other features that are practical and pleasing. I am pretty sure that Associate Professor Neal Pollock will be in seventh heaven when he buys one of these bags. Each duffle bag has not one or two, but four compression straps! Neal is a big fan of compression straps because "Zippers can fail, compression straps provide critical backup." Fourth Element has included a large clear window pocket so that you can insert / remove an ID label. Finally the bag's trim doubles as a daisy chain. It's nice to have the option to clip something off on a line of loops.
