Extreme athlete Wolfgang Kulov and SEABOB aim to establish a joint world record.

Kulov will cross the Fehmarn Belt with SEABOB - The fastest water sled in the world.

  • World Record Attempt: "Fastest underwater crossing of the Fehmarn Belt with scuba gear and an underwater scooter"
  • Date: Tuesday, September 27, 2016
  • Start: Lolland, Denmark
  • Finish: Fehmarn Island, Germany

On September 27, 2016, extreme athlete Wolfgang Kulov plans to cover a distance of 20 kilometers. He will start at the Danish island of Lolland and end at the German island of Fehmarn, with a maximum depth of 10 meters. Kulov, equipped with only a scuba tank and a SEABOB, will attempt to complete this world record attempt, a feat no one has previously pursued.

Throughout the attempt, a safety boat and professional diver will be available if needed. In addition, Kulov’s oxygen tank and SEABOB will need to be replaced periodically, as the athlete is not allowed to leave the water. Professional camera equipment is also available for spectacular underwater shots. This is a daredevil record attempt that demands a lot implementation by various stakeholders. The Record-Institute of Germany (RID) will be on site to accompany Kulov in his world record attempt.
