Explorer II becomes Emperor’s largest-ever Maldives boat

Received from: Emperor Divers

Emperor Divers is adding to its Maldives fleet with the launch of Emperor Explorer II, a brand-new flagship liveaboard and the largest vessel the company has operated in the region.

At 44 metres long, Explorer II has been designed with a focus on space, comfort and functionality. The layout across four decks creates a sense of openness, with large windows throughout bringing in natural light and offering stunning sea views.

Explorer II will begin sailing in August 2026, with her predecessor, Emperor Explorer, continuing to operate until the end of May.

Primarily following Emperor Divers’ Best of Maldives itinerary, Explorer II offers the perfect way to dive the Male, Ari and Vaavu atolls, which are rich in some of the world’s most spectacular marine life.

Everything onboard the new vessel is done to the highest standard, from fixtures and fittings through to the overall guest experience, backed by Emperor’s reputation for excellent customer service.

Accommodation includes a mix of upper and main deck suites, along with lower deck cabins, all fully air-conditioned and with en-suite facilities. The configuration allows flexibility for couples, friends and solo travellers.

Onboard spaces are designed to work equally well for relaxation and socialising. Guests have access to an air-conditioned lounge, shaded outdoor seating areas and a sun deck with loungers and beanbags, providing plenty of room between dives and for enjoying the famous Maldivian sunsets.

Diving is supported by up to four experienced dive guides and conducted from a fully equipped 24-metre dhoni.

It also includes free Nitrox as part of Emperor’s No Hidden Extras guarantee, meaning port and marine park fees, fuel surcharges and other standard costs are all included upfront, with no unexpected extras added later.
