Buddy Dive Resort is proud to announce Jose Espinosa as the new Tek Supervisor of Buddy Dive Tek.
Jose has been part of the Buddy Dive team for more than two years. Since joining the resort in November 2023, he has become an important part of the technical diving department, teaching and guiding technical divers while continuing to expand his own experience and qualifications.
His diving journey began in Colombia in 2019, while working as a general surgeon in Bogotá. After discovering a passion for diving, he progressed from recreational diving into technical diving, completing sidemount and Tec 40, 45 and 50 in Roatán, followed by full cave certification in Mexico.
In 2022, Jose decided to leave his career as a surgeon and pursue diving professionally. After becoming an instructor and working in Honduras, he joined Buddy Dive, where he continued his technical development with Tec 50 Trimix, Tec 65 and full Trimix training, including an open-circuit dive to 100 meters. More recently, he became a Mod 1 Helitrox CCR diver on the ChOptima.
“I am very excited about all the things we can achieve with the Tek team,” says Jose. “I love technical diving and teaching new technical divers. I am passionate about the science and physiology behind it, and I love sharing knowledge and learning from others. I can’t wait to see what will come our way as Buddy Dive Tek!”
With his unique medical background, technical diving experience and passion for teaching, Jose is looking forward to leading Buddy Dive Tek into its next chapter.
