We are delighted to announce that shipwreck researcher, motivational speaker and author Rod Macdonald has now been inducted into the prestigious Explorers Club of New York.

This is indeed an accolade and Rod is honoured to find himself amongst many other celebrated and intrepid people.

He has recently returned from speaking at one of the major diving events in the world, OZTeK, held in Sydney.

Renowned for his authoritative and informative writing, Rod has many dive books to his name including The Darkness Below, Force Z Shipwrecks of the South China Sea, Great British Shipwrecks, a personal adventure and the highly-acclaimed Dive Truk Lagoon.

See below for information on these and others...

DIVE PALAU, The Japanese WWII Pacific Shipwrecks

In March, 1944 the U.S. fast carriers of Task Force 58 neutralised the air and naval capability of Truk Lagoon in the two-day air raid, Operation Hailstone. Six weeks later Task Force 58 launched a similar two-day air raid against the naval and air capabilities of Palau, 1000 miles to the west. The shipwreck legacy of these two audacious naval air raids has turned Truk and Palau into perhaps the world’s greatest wreck diving locations. In his new book Dive Palau, the Japanese WWII Shipwrecks, Rod Macdonald sets the scene with his usual level of meticulous historical research followed by detailed explorations of the wrecks today and newlycommissioned artist’s impressions of the wrecks as they lie on the seabed.
