SeaTrek BVI: A Summer Camp at Sea that is Defining Diving Among Youth

With summer adventure voyages located in the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas and the Leeward Islands, SeaTrek BVI programs revolve around hands-on sailing, scuba diving, and instruction in marine science. With ages ranging from 12 to 20, students live aboard Moorings 4800 yachts for 21 days and become fully immersed in the liveaboard diving lifestyle.

2018 ICUE Program Released, Speaker Lineup and Special Promotions Announced

Similar to last year, ICUE will be held in conjunction with the Scuba Show in Long Beach, California, on June 22-23 with several special events and engaging and informative seminars scheduled throughout the weekend.

Held in room Seaside 7 of the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center, ICUE will run a two-day series of seminars comprised of a list of highly anticipated key speakers who are industry innovators and leaders. While the overall ICUE theme is Dive Safety, seminar topics are wide-ranging.

Crocs & Sharks with Pro Dive International and Avalon in Cuba

Jardines de la Reina, this pristine underwater paradise consists of abundant marine life and amazing coral reefs. This place is also called “Shark´s paradise” for a reason. Sharks are one of the main attractions and they can be encountered everywhere. It´s common to dive with 6 different species: Silkies, Reef, Lemon, Black tip, King Hammerhead and nurse sharks. Second Annual Gasp–Our Beads of Tampa Bay Cleanup and Survey

Over 60 people including eight boats, nine kayaks and paddleboards, 27 divers, eight snorkelers and 12 topside support volunteers gathered Sunday morning to continue the work that started with the 2017 Gasp–Our Beads event: to not only clean up marine debris, but to better understand how brightly colored beads – the primary waste biproduct of festivals and parades – impact the water quality of Tampa Bay. NAUI Welcomes New Freediving Coordinator, Expands Role in Worldwide Freediver Education

The Freediving Coordinator is a position devoted to all aspects of the NAUI Freediving program, including standards and curriculum development, training, eLearning management, member recruitment, upgrades, and programmatic maintenance. In this expanded role, Semrad will work alongside NAUI Training Director, Terrence Tysall, and be responsible for developing and implementing freediving support and materials for members.

Soviet Sub found and identified

According to Wallin's report, UMEX (Underwater Exploration Team) found and identified Sch-317 yesterday, 2 May 2018.

This Soviet submarine lies at 78 meters / 255 ft between Gogland (Suursaari) and Tuiters (Tytärsaari) in the east part of the Gulf of Finland in Russian waters.

Sch-317 was sunk in 1942 by a German mine after surviving several attacks by allies that included bombing the Swedish coast.

The submarine's final resting place is near her home port.
