Beuchat Premium Gloves

In the main you want your hands protected against mechanical damage—scrapes, scratches and bangs—when wreck and cave diving. To this end, Beuchat have covered the palms, the front of the fingers and the fingertips of their 'Premium Gloves' with Kevlar. This will help make these gloves far more durable. I recently did a photo shoot wearing a plain pair of neoprene gloves where I had to do a repetitive task. By the end of it, one of my fingertip pads had worn through, much to my disgust and frustration.

KUBI Red Dry Gloves

KUBI have been selling black textured heavyweight outer gloves for approximately four year, and they are well-liked by wreck divers that want a thicker glove than the standard 1.6mm latex glove. Peter Wilson from KUBI stated "divers have asked us on several occasions for a brighter glove colour, hence we have launched this red dexterous glove.

Fourth Element Ellipse Dryglove System

A simple, reliable, ergonomic system, designed to provide an easy solution for dry gloves.

The ergonomic elliptical shape offers a slimmer profile whilst still allowing a larger hand to pass through.

Aligning the glove and suit rings is made easier by an intuitive key system; the gloves are attached by pressing the rings together. A robust nitrile O-ring provides a reliable seal for the gloves which will stay secured throughout the dive.

Removing the gloves is a simple process, using the heel of your hand pop off one side of the glove ring to break the seal.

Fourth Element Rock Hopper Shoe

Beaches are also not necessarily a picturesque stretch of sand. They can comprise of pebbles, stones, rocks or an iron shore. (When limestone dissolves the material left can be quite rough and sharp, therefore it is called an 'iron shore').

In cooler climes we will either wear drysuits or neoprene boots to protect our feet when we are shore diving. But what is the option for our feet in a more balmy destination when you don't require a bigger bulkier boot?

SI Tech Orust Neck Seal System

One day my latex neck seal tore at just the wrong time and I had to bin a dive. It was at the time when it was pretty much impossible to get a latex seal instantly changed in the field. It was a problem that manufacturers took notice of. In the mid to late noughties a couple of solutions were launched. DUI unveiled their ZipSeals, whilst Waterproof worked in partnership with SI TECH to develop the Neck Tite System.

Drysuits

All the questions about drysuits you always wanted to know the answer to but never dared to ask: Why dive drysuits? Neoprene or membrane type? Purchasing a suit. Zippers and care. Getting the Bouyancy right. Diving the suits. Special training and tips.
